Sagar Nilgiri Products (formerly known as Sagar Super Market/ Sagar Nilgiri Oil Distillery) was founded in mid-January,1967 by Mr.R Ramaswamy Chettiar at Ooty, The Nilgiris, Tamilnadu. The retail shop was started as an exclusive store for various Nilgiri Products, especially Nilgiri Oil, Tea & Spices; our core focus has remained on products unique to these Nilgiris Hills. Later, items unique to the Nilgiris were added [Essential Oils- - Aromatherapy Oil-Coffee-Nature Soaps-Forest Honey-Cosmetics-Perfumes & Homemade Chocolates].

Our Chain of stores played a prominent role in expanding the market for most of the products mentioned above in the Nilgiris. These products were not well known to the public. Our chain of stores takes credit for popularizing the above low profile Nilgiri products, intoblockbuster products well known to all the visitors of Ooty. After years of hard work, study and experience; the hunger for innovation and invention did not end. Mr. R Chandrasekar [B.A from MCC] son of the former, and third generation entrepreneur, Mr C Deepak [ B. Tech Chemical from SRM University, P.G Diploma in Perfumery and Cosmetics from Mumbai University], are holding the helm in the flagship business and gradually scaling up with innovative ideas & products.
